Paligap New Starters

New Starter: Dean Teifel

Role: South East Brand Specialist

My love of bikes began at the age of 9 after watching the Tour de France for the first time and following in my brother’s footsteps who also rode bikes.

Fast forward a couple of years and my school friends pressured me into trying mountain biking, I raced downhill for a couple of years and then moved on to BMX as it was cheaper. After a few years, I snapped my ACL, and part of my recovery was road cycling. From here the seed was re-sown as I continued to ride both BMX and road for several years.

In 2014 I was offered an opportunity to enter the bike trade at Mountain Mania. I spent 2 great years there learning more about the trade before moving on to work for Pinarello UK. Here I spent time at the service course with Team Sky and also had trips out to Italy which honed in my love of building and fixing bikes.

In January 2020 my time at Pinarello came to an end and I moved back to Mountain Mania to help them resurrect the road side of the business and infuse my experience of working on high-end bikes. During that time Paligap approached me about a position for a brand specialist and fast forward to December 2020, I have now been in my current role as a brand specialist for 3 months. Working alongside experienced and supportive colleagues has been a key part of my development both on and off the road. I really believe in the brands that Paligap provide having worked with many of them before, my favourite being the Ale kit, it really is as good as many other competitors.

My day-to-day consists of traveling to new shops, meeting the teams, learning their story and understanding how we as a company can then help, support and build on that relationship.

New Starter: Kirsty Wareham

Role: Alé Custom Coordinator

I have been a member of the cycling community for 14 years, working on many cycling events and pro races. I also work in Majorca 3 times a year at cycling camps for Andy Cook Cycling. I have various jobs out there from meet and greet at the airport to cycling on the island.

3 years ago I was given the opportunity to work in a bicycle shop with administration but I also got my hands dirty from time to time helping out in the workshop. I enjoyed seeing the customers and chatting about events they had been to or cycling camps they had been on.

Back in the summer of 2020, I began my role with Paligap as Alé Custom Coordinator. My work colleagues have helped me settle in well and I look forward to a successful 2021 and beyond.
